Bay leaf, dried leaves of the Laurel tree, is known as "Tejpatta " in hindi and " tamalpatra" in marathi.Bay leaves has magical properties and using them in your cooking can be very beneficial.We don't eat bay leaves directly.Bay leaves are added to curries,stews ,vegetable dishes,meat etc to give them a nice flavor.In India bay leaves are used in Pulavs, Biryani and other rich spicy dishes.In north India bay leaves are added in most of the curries.When bay leaves are cooked they supply Vitamin A,C ,Calcium, magnesium etc.
